The Pilgrims Cross

The Pilgrims Cross is 40 metres high, made out of wood and one can walk all the way up. It was built in 2004 as a message of freedom and is the biggest walkable wooden cross in the world.

The view is amazing.

Directly at the cross many events take place. Please see here Veranstaltungen

There is a coffee shop at the cross to make a stop-over.

To reach the cross you can walk up a steep walkway which will take you about 25 minutes. It starts right at the church in Veitsch. You can park at the church.

To reach Veitsch, best use the Autobahn (S6), exit Mitterdorf. Right after the exit you reach a roundabout; from there the Pilgrims Cross is already marked.

And then it goes on to Mariazell
