Peter Rosegger was a famous regional writer. He was born 1843 in Alpl and died 1918 in Krieglach.
You can visit his birth house or the old school on the Alpl. Ist a great way to see how the ordinary People lived during his time.
The most famous walk he did was at Christmas, when he went down from the Alpl mountain to Langenwang to get the Christmas goodys = Chrittagsfreuden.
Until today many people rewalk the path. Especially before Christmas – every 4th Advent sunday there is a big prosession, starting in Langenwang.
It reminds us about the rather harsh living circumstances of the time of Peter Rosegger and at the same time gives a great opportunity to enjoy our beautiful nature. An adventure! Everybody can walk the path on his own, or you join the Christmas walk if you are here!
